Dr. Stavroula A. Paschou, MD, PhD graduated with Honors (8.88/10) from the Medical School of the University of Ioannina, Greece in 2005. She obtained her PhD in Endocrinology with Honors from the same University in 2010. Then, she worked at the Department of Diabetes, St Bartholomew’s Hospital, University of London in London, UK, funded by grants from the European Association for the Study of Diabetes (EASD) and the British Diabetic Twin Trust. She continued with clinical training in Endocrinology at the Hellenic Red Cross Hospital, Athens, Greece. In 2015, she was awarded the International Endocrine Scholarship by the European Society of Endocrinology (ESE) and moved to Boston, MA, USA. She completed her training in Endocrinology at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, Harvard Medical School, Boston, MA, USA.

Since October 2016, Dr. Paschou works as a postdoctoral researcher and clinical scientific collaborator at the Medical School, National and Kapodistrian University of Athens. She teaches at postgraduate programs (MSc) at Medical School of National and Kapodistrian University of Athens and Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. Furthermore, she has worked as a salaried scientific collaborator at School of Medicine, European University Cyprus from 2016 to 2019. She also serves as a Faculty Member at the EASD and ESE Postgraduate Educational Courses, which take place all around the world.

She has published a large number of chapters in prestigious scientific books, such as Oxford Textbook of Endocrinology and Diabetes, and papers in prestigious scientific journals. Her author metrics can be summarized as following: publications in PubMed 118, total impact factor 503,031, citations 1,419, h-index 19, i10-index 36. She has presented studies, she has given invited lectures or has chaired in many national and international congresses or webinars. She has received prestigious awards and scholarships. She acts as member of the editorial board or reviewer in high impact scientific journals. She is member of the ESE Young Endocrinologists and Scientists (EYES) Committee and the ESE Science Committee. She coordinates the ESE/EYES Clinical Observership Program for the training of Young Endocrinologists in Centres of Expertise in Europe. Dr. Paschou chaired the 7th EYES Meeting in Athens, Greece in September 2019. She is member of the Program Organizing Committee (POC) for the 23rd European Congress of Endocrinology, which will be held in Prague, Czech Republic in May 2021.

Stergios Polyzos

Stergios Polyzos received his Medical Training (MD; 1996), Master in Science (MSc in Medical Research Technology; 2004) and Doctor of Philosophy (PhD; 2012) degrees from the School of Medicine, Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (AUTh), Greece. He currently works as Assistant Professor of Pharmacology–Medical Research Methodology at the First Department of Pharmacology, School of Medicine, AUTh, Greece.

Stergios Polyzos contributes to both pre-graduate and post-graduate courses of the School of Medicine (AUTh). He was also an invited lecturer in more than 80 international and Greek congresses.

His main research interests are hepatic and bone metabolism. Stergios Polyzos has published over 320 full-length articles in peer-reviewed international medical journals. He currently serves as Associate Editor in “Metabolism, Clinical and Experimental”, as Associate Editor in “Hormones” and as Reviewer in more than 90 international medical journals.

Theoni Tarlatzi

 

Theoni Tarlatzi graduated (MD) from the Medical School of Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (AUTH), Greece and completed her Residency training in Obstetrics and Gynecology at the Université Libre de Bruxelles (ULB), Brussels, Belgium. She received a Complementary Master (MSc) in Obstetrics and Gynecology from the Université Libre de Bruxelles (ULB), Brussels, Belgium and Postgraduate University Diplomas in: 1) “Reproductive Endocrinology” from the Université Pierre et Marie-Curie, Paris, France, 2) “Gynecological and Obstetrical Ultrasound” from the Université Libre de Bruxelles and the Université Catholique de Louvain, Belgium, and 3) “Reproductive Medicine and Biology” from the Université Libre de Bruxelles and Université de Liege, Belgium. She completed her Fellowship in Reproductive Medicine at the Fertility Clinic of the Erasme Hospital, ULB, Brussels, Belgium and her training in the Hysterosonography (SIS) and Hysterosalpingo-Foam Sonography (HyFoSy) in the same center. Persefoni Talimtzi

Persefoni Talimtzi was born in Thessaloniki, Greece. She graduated from the Department of Mathematics, University of Ioannina in 2015 and she received her MSc degree in Biostatistics School of Medicine – Department of mathematics, National and Kapodistrian University of Athens in 2018. For a semester she was an Erasmus trainee in National Center of Epidemiology, Carlos III Health Institute, in Madrid. She is a research fellow in Medical Statistics in the Department of Medicine, Aristotle University of Thessaloniki and will soon start a PhD in Medical Statistics-Epidemiology under the supervision of associate Professor Anna-Bettina Haidich.
Her research interests include statistical methodology of medical data with R computer language and other statistical programs.

Maria Milapidou

Maria Milapidou graduated summa cum laude from the School of Law of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (AUTh) in 2002. In 2004 she obtained her MSc and in 2011 her PhD from the Department of Penal Law and Criminology of the School of Law, AUTh. Since 2014 she is a post-doctoral researcher at the Department of Penal Law and Criminology, School of Law, AUTh, focusing on the study of Law and bioethics. Since 2005 she has been involved in teaching pre-graduate courses at the School of Law, AUTh, whereas since 2011 she has taught several multidisciplinary post-graduate courses at AUTh and the Democritus University of Thrace. She is a member of the Association of Medical Law and Bioethics, of the Laboratory for the Research of Medical Law and Bioethics at the Aristotle University Law School and she is a contributor to the journals “Criminal Justice” and “Medical Law and Bioethics”. She has presented her work in conferences and seminars in the field of Bioethics and has published more than 50 papers/comments in law journals/reviews, written a monograph and co-authored a second book.

Christos Tsametis

Dr. Christos P. Tsametis was born in Grevena, Greece in 1970 and graduated with Honors from the Medical School of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (AUTh) in 1993. He has acquired the speciality of “Endocrinology, Diabetes and Metabolism” at the relevant Department of “PANAGIA” General Hospital in Thessaloniki. In 2004, having a scholarship from the Greek State, he worked as a clinical and research fellow in Oxford Centre for Diabetes, Endocrinology and Metabolism (OCDEM) at Churchill Hospital, Radcliffe Department of Medicine, University of Oxford, UK. He obtained his Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree from AUTh in 2013, studying the dynamics of Antimüllerian hormone in subfertile men. In 2015, after completing the appropriate training, he became the first Clinical Andrologist in Greece certified by the European Academy of Andrology. Currently, he works in private practice in Thessaloniki and serves as a clinical scientific collaborator at the Unit of Reproductive Endocrinology, 1st Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, AUTh at “Papageorgiou” General Hospital.
