Efstratios M. Kolibianakis

Concise curriculum vitae

Professor Kolibianakis got his Medical Degree from the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (1991), and his MSc in Medical and Pharmaceutical Research (2002) and PhD on the optimization of GnRH antagonist stimulation (2004) from the Dutch Speaking Brussels Free University in Belgium. He also has an MSc in Healthcare Management from the School of Social Sciences at the Greek Open University (2014).

Professor Kolibianakis has published several chapters in books, 165 papers in peer-reviewed scientific journals (PUBMED, 5/2020), has 7470 citations (SCOPUS, 5/2020) and a Hirsch Index of 50 (SCOPUS, 5/2020). Professor Kolibianakis has given more than 200 lectures at international meetings and has been on the editorial boards of Human Reproduction (2005-2009), BJOG (2017-2020), RBMOnline (2009-present), Fertility-Sterility (2011-present) and F&S Science (2020).

He has served as the the coordinator of the Special Interest Group Reproductive Endocrinology (SIG RE) of the European Society for Human Reproduction and Embryology (ESHRE) (2013-2015), as  the Chair of Special Interest Groups Committee of ESHRE(2017-2019) and he is currently past chair of the Special Interest Groups Committee of ESHRE.

Professor Kolibianakis is the Head of the Unit for Human Reproduction at the 1st Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the Medical School of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Greece and the director of the executive committee for the postgraduate training programs (MSc) in “Human Reproduction ” (Aristotle University of Thessaloniki).

George Lainas

Concise curriculum vitae

George Lainas is a Reproductive Gynecologist at Eugonia IVF Unit, Athens, Greece and an honorary clinical fellow at Barts and the London NHS Trust, London, UK.
Performed his undergraduate studies at the University of Insubria, Varese, Italy and at the University of Athens, Greece from where he obtained his Medical Degree.
He trained in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Kings College University Hospital, at St Bartholomew’s University Hospital and at Royal London University Hospital in London, UK. He obtained his subspecialty in Reproductive Medicine at St Bartholomew’s Hospital, Unit of Reproductive Medicine, London UK.
His PhD thesis is on GnRH agonist for triggering final oocyte maturation, from the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki.
Research interests mainly include optimization of ovarian stimulation protocols and in vitro fertilization outcome, mild stimulation protocols, poor ovarian response, ovarian hyperstimulation syndrome and evidence-based medicine in reproductive health care.
Has authored and co-authored several scientific papers published in peer-reviewed scientific journals as well as being regularly, an invited speaker in international meetings.
He has served as the Senior (2017-2019) and Junior deputy (2015-2017) of the Special Interest Group Reproductive Endocrinology (SIG RE), of the European Society of Human Reproduction and Embryology (ESHRE)
Currently he is the Coordinator of the ESHRE Reproductive Endocrinology Special Interest Group (SIG) as of 2019.
George Lainas has served as a member of the expert committee of the Guideline Development Group on ‘’Ovarian Stimulation in ART” of ESHRE. Furthermore, he is a member of the ESHRE working group for the development of Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s) for clinical practice in IVF and of the working group for the development of recommendations on Recurrent Implantation Failure (RIF).

Theoni Tarlatzi

 

Theoni Tarlatzi graduated (MD) from the Medical School of Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (AUTH), Greece and completed her Residency training in Obstetrics and Gynecology at the Université Libre de Bruxelles (ULB), Brussels, Belgium. She received a Complementary Master (MSc) in Obstetrics and Gynecology from the Université Libre de Bruxelles (ULB), Brussels, Belgium and Postgraduate University Diplomas in: 1) “Reproductive Endocrinology” from the Université Pierre et Marie-Curie, Paris, France, 2) “Gynecological and Obstetrical Ultrasound” from the Université Libre de Bruxelles and the Université Catholique de Louvain, Belgium, and 3) “Reproductive Medicine and Biology” from the Université Libre de Bruxelles and Université de Liege, Belgium. She completed her Fellowship in Reproductive Medicine at the Fertility Clinic of the Erasme Hospital, ULB, Brussels, Belgium and her training in the Hysterosonography (SIS) and Hysterosalpingo-Foam Sonography (HyFoSy) in the same center. She is a Member of Greek and International scientific societies. She has participated in numerous scientific congresses with presentations or as moderator and she has publications in national and international journals.

Christos is a Senior Consultant Gynaecologist and Fertility Specialist, an Assistant Professor at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Greece and a Visiting Senior Research Fellow at  University of New South Wales, Australia.

Prof. Venetis is also the Global Head of Clinical Research for Virtus Health, one of the largest organizations of ART services globally.

His research has attracted more than 1.5 million dollars in funding in the last 5 years.

He has been named in the top 1% of most cited researchers worldwide in Obstetrics and Reproductive Medicine for 2021. He is an author of >115 publications in international scientific journals (h-index: 42, >7800 citations, Google Scholar), of several chapters in books and has been an invited speaker in >200 international scientific meetings. He has co-edited a textbook on the evidence-based management of Recurrent Implantation Failure.

For many years he has been a passionate advocate of evidence-based medicine in his field and has been serving as a member of the editorial board of Human Reproduction since 2008. He is also currently a Section Editor for RBM Online, for Reproductive Biology & Endocrinology, an Associate Editor for F&S Reviews, Reproductive Sciences and for Fertility & Reproduction.

He regularly lectures in national and international postgraduate (MSc) courses, and he is currently a course coordinator for the MSc in Human Reproduction (Aristotle University of Thessaloniki) and a convenor for the MSc in Reproductive Medicine (University of New South Wales).

He has also held several leadership positions, including being a Director for the Board of the Fertility Society of Australia and New Zealand (2019-2023) and the Deputy Chair of the Research Grants Committee of the Royal Australia and New Zealand College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (RANZCOG).

His research interests include ovarian stimulation, endometrial receptivity, reproductive epidemiology and the health of mothers and babies after ART. He is currently leading a number of research projects in these fields both nationally and internationally and is mentoring junior colleagues.
